What's Hot for 2008

What will 2008 hold for Brides, and Grooms, everywhere?  What are the style pundits talking about and what are the hot new trends for 2008?

1.   Black Orchids - this is the rarest and most exclusive orchid, not cheap but     great impact!

2.   Red - We've said it before and nothing says 'passion' like red..dress, lips, flowers, tableclothes, marquees.

3.   Cakes - time to 'bling' up the cake with a bit of gilding, black & white icing, pearls, sequins, frills, even 50's polka-dots.

4.   Monogram, Monogram, Monogram.  Huge in the States and heading here - design your own and put it on everything from the invites to the favours.

5.   We know we've mentioned black already but...black wedding dresses are cooool. Remeber to put your bridesmaids in white for a contemporary wedding that screams 'style'.  

6.   Eco-weddings - recycle your mother's dress, offset your carbon emissions, use a generator or better still party outside (weather permitting) by candle-light and compost all left-overs (not very exciting but you will glow not just with happiness but knowing you did the right thing by the planet too).

7.   Marquee Villages - why have one when three, four or even more make for a setting that combines intimate areas with larger reception and entertainment areas. 

8.   Favours - Bored with sugared almonds?  Anything goes this year so why not burn a CD of your favourite tunes to remind everyone of your special day?

9.   Food - forget the usual three courses - set up food stations around the room, sushi here, thai over there and puddings by the window.  Guests will mingle as they munch - so much more fun than sitting with Auntie for three hours!   

10.  Sweetheart Tables -  Table plan giving you a headache - why bother? Have a table just for two and avoid the family feuding!
